The company was founded in 1981 by David Wait, who was a City & Guilds qualified plasterer and bricklayer. He became highly skilled, specialising in Pargeting. In 2004 his son, Luke, joined the team and slowly took over the running.

The family business concentrated on extensions and renovation works within Maldon and the surrounding area. The company grew and expanded into all forms of construction and renovations, to include kitchens and bathrooms as well as garden and landscaping projects.

David retired to France in 2021.
